TORNADO MEETS VOLCANO

Magma cinta, kasih sayang, pengertian, kebohongan, cemburu, amarah, keakuan, bercampur hingga kian memuncak akhirnya meletus keluar seolah aliran lava untuk kemudian menghancurkan hati,

Maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets a volcano*, kekasihku...

Katamu kamu selalu berdiri dibalik pintu,
Pintu yang tak terkunci namun tertutup tak bercelah,
Jadi kamu tetap tak terlihat kan sayang?
Ya, kamu memang mengetuk, tapi pelan sekali,
Kamu tidak pernah memanggil,
Jantungmupun seolah berhenti bergemuruh,
Jadi mana aku bisa dengar?
Bagaimana aku bisa tahu?

MENARILAH BERSAMAKU, PATRONUSKU

"If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, love to dance with my father again" – Luther Vandross

Haruskah aku berteriak “Expecto Patronum” berkali-kali?

Aku menunggumu, pelindungku!

Ya Tuhan, sungguh malam ini aku kangen sekali...

My Girl is Ready for the High School

My 9 years old will enter junior high school this year. Yes, she is too young because she is an accelerated student at her elementary school.  Junior high school is a lot tougher than elementary school. The subjects are harder and all of a sudden...I hope SMP Taruna Bakti is the best junior high school for my girl.

Does Your Kid Hate Math?

Ask any elementary school student what subject they hate more than any other and the chances are that 9 out of 10 will say Math.  I know my 1st daughter did.  Why do you suppose this is true?
The main reason kids hate Math is that somewhere along the way, they havent quite understood a concept that was presented to them, and, often, before they do understand it, a new concept has been added.  Before long, the child is so overwhelmed, they just five up and, as a result, decided they hate the subject.
I have always believed that most kids can learn just about anything if they are exposed to it using familiar surroundings and techniques and encouraged to proceed at their own pace.
I decided to enroll Sysil to Sakamoto. Briefly, the Sakamoto Math Method consists of three simple basic steps. The first step is analyzing the problem, determining the essential facts from the question, and grasping the relationship of the data to each other. Here, the students organize and co-relate the information systematically in a tabular form. The second step is translating the information gathered in the first step into a linear diagram. The linear diagram will help the students determine and understand the logic behind the calculations that they must do in the next step. In the last step, students write the equations and do the calculations to arrive at the final answer. Using the Sakamoto Math Method, children are trained to grasp the essence of the question and reduce it to a simple diagram formula. Thank God, Sysil can minimize her negative feeling on math now.
Depending on how far behind your child is in Math, and how strong their negative feeling are on the subject, it will take time to bring them back up to a level where they can function well.  Dont give up.  If you hang there, by the end of this school year, your children may be naming Math their favorite subject, rather than their most hated one.

Sysil's 2011 Piano Recital

Sysil has been with Andry Efendy Music Studio for almost a year now and I really see in her eyes she wants to play piano.  She is commited and practice every week for improvement of her lessons.
On Feb 20, 2011 I attended Sysil's Piano Recital.  She has performed well and she is very confident of playing piano.  I am so proud of Sysil, keep it going!
